Montague WebWorks is the new website host for the Town of Montague
On Monday, November 13th, 2017, the Town of Montague switched their Official Town Website hosting to Montague WebWorks. This now brings the number of Towns MWW hosts to six, (the others being the Towns of Gill, Greenfield, Leverett, Leyden and Plainfield).
Working closely with Montague's Town Administrator Steve Ellis, Town Clerk Deb Borbeau, Selectboard Executive Secretary Wendy Bogosz, and IT Coordinator Carolyn Olsen, we were able to move over about 3,000 PDF files and hundreds of pages of content from their old website, previously hosted by Virtual Town Hall.
"We were looking at VTH's new platform as a possible upgrade path, until Mik Muller contacted us and we realized we might benefit from using a local provider this time around. That choice has paid off. Mik has made himself available at a level an out-of-town provider would not be able to provide" said Steve Ellis. "The conversion process went smoothly, and the new platform is quite easy to use. I actually feel a little excited every time I have to log in to make a change, because I know I can do it quickly, and be done", added Ellis.
And the new site looks beautiful! Visit it at http://Montague-MA.gov/
Every Town department has been issued an administrative account login assigned to their area of the website. They are able to make changes to their pages, upload files and photos, and create news articles and calendar events.
Looking to the future, MWW is now in talks with two additional Towns.
